Weston Village
In Toronto Life Magazine’s most recent Real Estate Issue, they have revealed their take on “Twelve Neighbourhoods Destined for Great Things”. Taking a look at transit accessibility, housing stock and desirability into account, they identified 12 neighbourhoods they feel are most likely to experience a higher than average rise in property values vs. the rest of the city. We’re going to feature one each month in our newsletters for 2026, so be sure to keep following along, especially if you are thinking about buying this year, to see if there’s an area that matches what you may be looking for!
First up, Weston Village.
According to Toronto Life, Weston Village (or just Weston to some) hit the transit jackpot when the UP Express started running through the neighbourhood, connecting residents to Union Station in less than 20 minutes. When the Eglinton LRT gets launched, it will also connect commuters to the east and west. Most houses were built in the early mid-20th century, but the area has a rich history dating back to early 1800s, eventually becoming an important industrial hub for Toronto. Today, many streets are lined with mature trees, some dating back 100 years. As some commercial/industrial parts are being re-zoned and developed for residential, new housing including condo buildings are popping up. As well, smaller bungalow properties are being re-developed into larger custom 2-storey homes.
Notable amenities: Weston Library (repurposed Carnegie Library set to undergo a massive expansion to three times its original size), Cruikshank Park, Weston Farmers’ Market, future home of a new MLSE Launchpad.
