July Wrap-Up from the Toronto Home Experts Team!

We are officially half way through Summer and we hope you have had the opportunity to enjoy some time with friends and family!

As for the current real estate market, we have now had two interest rate reductions over the past few months and we are waiting to see what impact this will have on the market over the duration of the Summer and into the Fall. Be sure to scroll down and check out the latest blog post on what these rate cuts mean for home buyers and sellers. If you have any questions, we are always here and happy to help.

Whether you're relaxing at home or exploring new places, we hope you enjoy the rest of your Summer. See you next month!

Bank of Canada Makes Second Consecutive Rate Cut

In its pre-scheduled July 2024 announcement, the Bank of Canada dropped the target for the overnight lending rate by 25 basis points to 4.50%.

While inflation remains above the Bank’s 2% target, it is expected that inflation will continue to ease as the global economy expands into 2026, bolstering the Bank’s decision to continue lowering rates.

"Alex helped us find a home in the middle of a crazy Toronto seller's market. It all turned out great, but it was no small task—an international move where we could not be present for all the viewings. Alex went many extra miles for us, blocking off multiple weekends when we could come to town and doing video tours for us when we couldn't. Through it all, Alex showed incredible patience, wisdom, and gave us really expert insight into the possibilities and opportunities available. We would recommend him most highly as someone who listens to what his clients want and works tirelessly to try and find the right match."

Our Experience: Toronto has no shortage of excellent sushi establishments, but for those looking for high quality sashimi and nigiri be sure to check out Shunoko! They serve an extensive menu of maki, nigiri as well hot and cold dishes. Be sure to try their omakase (chef’s choice) tasting menu for a real treat. What stands out to me is that their fish is seasoned and aged which provides for some outstanding flavours. Try to sit at the chef’s counter and watch the chefs prepare each dish and work their magic. What stood out for me was the otoro (fatty tuna) - which was incredibly tasty and just melts in your mouth.  If you enjoy high quality sushi, it’s definitely worth a visit!
