The Golden Mile

Continuing our 2026 newsletter series featuring Toronto Life Magazine’s “Twelve Neighbourhoods Destined for Great Things”, we’re highlighting another area they believe is poised for above-average growth based on transit, housing stock and overall desirability.

Next up, The Golden Mile.

North of the Danforth and east of East York, crossing over into Scarborough, The Golden Mile was once one of Canada’s first model industrial parks. These days, it is home to an emerging destination in Toronto’s food scene. The options are unpretentious, parking is abundant, and reservations are seldom required. 54% of the residents in the neighbourhoods surrounding the commercial strip are immigrants, predominantly from the Philippines, Sri Lanka, India and China.
